With the exception of a few materials and hardware upgrades, these are the same cases that we began producing in the 1970’s under the name Assault Systems. Being the first company in the world to market nylon rifle cases, we set the standard for all types of nylon hunting and shooting products. The researchers then tested Diovan in mice that were genetically at risk for Alzheimer’s disease.

But when the researchers tested mice without the dementia gene glitch, Diovan treatment didn’t help or hurt the mice navigate the watery maze.

We’ll have to wait a while to see how this pans out. What works on mice in mazes doesn’t necessarily work on men in mazes.

Magnet-Free Europe
Magnet-Free Europe: For some reason, the EU was proposing severe restrictions on the use of MRI scans, a proposal which has been halted- for now. Here’s the reasoning behind the original restrictions:

The Directive was drafted by DG Employment, with the aim of minimising workers’ exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF). Currently eight million MRI patient examinations per year are carried out in Europe, said Professor Dag Rune Olsen, who works in experimental radiation therapy at the Norwegian Radiation Hospital, Oslo, Norway, and is chairman of the physics committee of the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO). “But these are likely to have to stop, since the Directive sets limits to occupational radiation exposure which will mean that anyone working or moving near MRI equipment will breach them, thus making it possible for them to sue their employers. Even those maintaining or servicing the equipment may be affected,” he said.

Radiation exposure? MRI’s don’t emit radiation, they detect the magnetic spin of atoms. The EU is worried that workers will be mesmerized by the MRI’s. Sally Szwarc has more.

If you are not familiar with the Firearms Coalition, you should be. Their history goes back to Neal Knox testifying in Congress against what became the Gun Control Act of 1968. Neal went on to become perhaps the player in the formation of NRA-ILA.

Buffalo Hunting

I highly recommend a satellite phone and am on call 24/7 for assistance. I am currently hunting an area with good herds of forest Buffalo Hunting and western kob. There are other species available. The only charge for extra animals is the trophy fee. If you have the time and the fortitude to walk a long distance you can go to an area with bongo, but they are hard to find. This is a hunt on foot for experienced hunters. I have one area that is still good and does not require a long walk; in fact you reach the first camp by vehicle.

AR-15 Sights

Ever have a hard time picking up your front sight in low light? AR-15 Sights /M16 series rifle has developed into an excellent system with more accessories supporting it than any other weapon on the planet. For good reason. With the correct barrel twist and bullet (sadly, something, the military has turned away from with it’s 1:7 twist), it’s highly effective and reliable. Still, there is always room for more and Ned Scheer of Mounting Solutions Plus has recently patented a new front sight called the SIGHTLINK, Part no. FOS-070-MS1, that will, I believe, prove to be a great success. Based on the fiber optic sights one might find on rifles and shotguns, Ned has gone the extra mile and made an AR15 specific sight that not only adjusts for elevation as the original, but can then be adjusted again so that the blade of the sight aligns properly. This special feature is what sets it apart from all others and is what generated the patent. Most fiber optic sights can only be adjusted in 180 degree rotations, which makes it impossible to exactly set your front sight without having to readjust your rear sight. In other words, as is typical of National Match sights and fiber optic sights, you would normally only be able to get “close” to the perfect zero, but then you have to diddle with your rear sight until you get your actual Center Mass or Six O’clock hold as desired. On the AR15A2 with Match sights, this is only a minor inconvenience, but on the A1 it is a total washout. An AR15A2 with a standard rear sight also presents a problem, as it does not have the fine adjustability of the A2 Match sight.
